NON-Defender Electrical Question

I installed a Disco II rearview mirror in my disco I last night. I worked for a few until i some how disconnected the wires I crimped. I heard the speakers popping, now the radio and the mirror (compass) wont work. I know they are tied to the same fuse, but the fuse is fine. What else am I missing?

Or I fried something and I'm just screwed.

When you disconnected the wires, was the battery connected? You probably fried it.

You can probably trace the bad wire.

I figured it didn't draw that much power so I would be ok. Since the wiring wasn't the same i need power to see if it was wired correctly.

Blast.

When I removed my headliner I blew the fuse for my dome light because I was too lazy to disco the battery, I figured the same thing- low draw no big deal who cares. Forgot to replace the fuse when I hit the road to MOAB, thought eh...no big deal. Get out on the trail for some wheelin and couldnt engage my low gear...turned out the safety for the gear was on the same fuse...had no clue. Lost four hours on that. it doesnt show that link anywhere that I looked that day and its was just by chance that we figured that one out.
