back from india .... Saw the Solar eclispe (85% + from where i was) and met a Hindi movie star...
anyway - the truck was at Biggs (my LR shop), started perfectly for 2 weeks daily.
Diagnosis - flooded
odd that it happened to me again on Wensday - start the truck it stumbles then won't start - seems the fuel pump is slightly hyperactive and flooding the engine.
happens randomly - w/o any throttle.
Cure: pull the fuel pump fuse - start the engine (crank a bit) then reinstall the fuse while the engine is running. this uses up the excess fuel and will start the engine (at least once so far for me). can be done from drivers seat in 30 seconds.
i'll update if it happens again and if the "cure" works again - it should
btw.. this was suggested by my mechanic in this situation.
Defenders don't wear out they just need more parts.
