No Parts Available

The check engine light came on. So, I took it down to the shop to see what was up with that. They found that there was a leak from the vent valve at the fuel tank and the cannister will not hold a vacuum. The real problem is they can't get the parts to fix it. Land Rover does not make them anymore. The shop checked the obvious places with not lock. Anyone know of a source that has the parts available or a "work around' to fix the problem. The problem does not effect the vehicle's performance and is an air pollution system.

Is it the tubing going from the top of the tank to the canister? If so, just go and get some feet of fuel line and new clamps. You'll be good to go. You'll have to drop the tank to do everything correctly.

You shouldnt need any of the LR parts for that stuff.

Good thing given what it costs at RN.

All of the lines except for the fuel were rotted and cracked. I replace all of them including the fuel fill line for less than 50 bucks.

Fuel line is fuel line....you know?

It is the cannister itself that has the leak in it.

Can the crack not be repaired? I have a little plastic welding kit that is effectively a soldering iron with a way to feed plastic rods through it to fill cracks.

What's it worth to you? I traded a bikini top for one of these not that long ago and I really just got it "just in case" since they are NLA and I didn't need the bikini top. I honestly don't know if I made a decent trade or not.

Not really. You'd need line rated for fuel injection (at least 60psi to be safe) and ethanol compatible. Not that this has anything to do with the thread....but worth consideration.

Surely other V8 rovers (and other cars) have a similar canister as well? If you are not trying to keep it stock, there have to be alternatives.
