Need some help. Tried to fire up the truck today after 5 years and nothing. Fuel pump turns on and runs till ECM cuts it off but no fire. New fuel lines and pump during rebuild. Also months ago before putting rear tub on we tested pump by putting 12 volts to it and all worked fine as well as verified that pump was working by taking off return line at tank and fuel poured out. That was like 8 months plus ago. Now no fire of engine. Is there something I am missing? Priming of lines? Do I have to get air out lines? I assuming the shraded valve on the rail is for.
Lines are on right. Just checked that. Filter is right as well.
Tried running pump manually for a while with line at rail disconnected and pump runs and sounds like it is pumping but nothing. Can pumps sound like they are running but not actually pump?
I've never had one run and not pump. It either has nothing to pump, is pumping it somewhere else or something is blocked. I did have the little hose in the tank cradle get buggared up once and "compromised"..........pumping but going nowhere.
Got it! Reverse polarity on the pump. Simple but frustrating.
Great to hear it run though!! Thanks for all of your help.
