No brake lights, turn signals, temp or fuel gauge.

On a D90 '95, I used a winch with the engine running. The following day I noticed these problems (no brake lights, turn signals, temp or fuel gauge) existed. Unsure if there is cause and effect here or some other, unrelated problem. Brake light (10 amp) fuse was blown. New brake light fuse blows as well when the ignition is switched on. Are these problems related? Any thoughts or easy hints on where to look to track down the source (of a short?) before I turn it over to the shop?

John
