Unhappy Newer LT-230 in older rig...

Hey there, I am trying to fit a newer style LT-230 [with the 3 electric plugs/fittings] to an older Rangie Classic. I don't want to fit it until I know for sure what to do with those three connections. Someone said it won't work period unless I "modify" them. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the board space!

Take the top solinoid thing off and remove the plunger thing from inside. All will be good. You should not need wires on a LT230 though you can hook up the diff lock warning light if you like, I find it helpful.

If it is 94 it should have the short input and be ok with an old RRC if it is newer you will need the 3in output for the ZF.

Explain the solehnoid...

Ron,

Is the solenoid under the cap with 4 smaller bolts or the one with 3 larger bolts? I got the plate off the "top" that was help by 4 small bolts and all I see is the inside of cylinder cant figure out anything from here...

The one on the very top. Once you take it off the inner cylinder can be removed. Just grab the part with the plunger and pull, the whole inner thing will come out. Then stick the cap back on and seal it up. (you have to use a bit extra where the wires go in.

The three bolt one in front does not need to have anything done to it.

Never mind, I closed my eyes and hit it with a big hammer... I also had to swap over one of the output housings b/c the new tbox didn't have holes for the brackets... Got it now! Thanks!

Hey Ron,

It must be that evil twisted lucas connection we all have... Do you get up in the middle of the night and bow to your rover on a full moon as well?
