You need a new crankshaft and harmonic balancer?

I assume you are rebuilding an engine from parts or had a catastrophic engine failure. I would say a junkyard/auto salvage yard would work. Or try an engine rebuild company. I think you could almost buy a TDi for what a new LR crank goes for.

Car is close to mint. Was driving fine but took to my guy for some minor work-including changing belts. When he took belts off we noticed lots of play in the the Harmonic Balancer. Took of and saw that keyway was trashed and key was almost gone. did a number to the crank as well. both need to be replaced. If I could find, they are $2000 together for parts as listed. What do I do here??!! Car has 40k miles on it-been in TX barn for 12 years.....out of my comfort zone here......Thanks Kevin

I could probably help you out. I have a 4.0 crank and a v-belt harmonic ballancer/pulley--do you need serpentine or v-belt?

Call Dawson at Classic 4x4's. I know for a fact there are several used cranks (and harmonic balancers) sitting in the shop. 203-870-1022. He is in CT too!

A machine shop should be able to repair the keyway.

If Bill is right, I have a balancer off of a 94 that had 72k on it if you want it - you pay shipping. I don't see a keyway on it so maybe I have the wrong piece in mind. It's a heavy cylindrical piece of steel the flywheel bolts to right?
