cool- I wish I knew about this site when I was researching. How do I get his number? I'm looking to ship another truck here. What's his prices like? I'm going to London around September to look for a 1989 5 door Defender 110. I might use him if he is cheaper. I would even drive it to the the front gate of the port. I don't know if I can trust eBay again to buy a car. It always looks pretty in photo but when you get, it's another thing. That's why I have to go abroad or/ and have family kick the tyres.

130Tdi is his user name to PM him.

You can ask him about pricing, but I found it very reasonable and I am a notorious cheap bastard.

Mine was bought for cheap because I wanted the PTO winch on it. Surprisingly the frame was in good enough shape that someone else was able to reuse it and the tub and roof went to someone else.

X2 for Doug. You may price others, and may even save a penny, but remember you are 'pants down' until the vehicle gets to you. Lots can happen in route- and that is assuming it gets in route, much less clearing customs, etc. Be careful, and do the research if using someone other than Doug, as there are horror stories...

X3 for Doug.
Especially because the rules (or at least the interpretation and enforcement of them) seem to be changing. Lots of people claim to know how to import, but its the nuances.
The devil is in the details.
Whatever you do just be patient, this all takes time.

BTW-Hagerty Insurance offers shipping insurance for shipping containers. Was like $250 for $30,000 of declared value or something like that. Cheap for peace of mind.

I can also vouch for Doug. He worked with the seller in the UK and delivered my truck + all necessary paperwork literally to my door. Great communication along the way, with details on what stage of the import process the truck was in.

He is extremely knowledgeable and and will guide you along the way. I highly recommend his services.

Don't get me wrong. Skytop was good to me. However, I don't think he was happy that I was well informed. The only thing that I need from him was to be my RI. I pretty took care of the rest. I really mean when I say that I was researching EVERYDAY for 1 year.
