New to Land Rover and search for a specific part

Hi all, I just purchased a 1994 NAS Defender 90 that is a soft top but has a painted factory fiberglass top. The top is in amazing condition. No cracks and is painted Coniston green and white to match the body. My issue is I have found two replacement struts to hold the fiberglass tailgate window up; however, one of the mounting brackets that the struts attach to on the body of the vehicle is missing. It does stay up with the single new strut in place but it obviously won't hold long and will strain that single strut. I have searched a lot online and coming up empty on these mounting brackets. Has anyone found these anywhere? Any suggestions?

I thought there was a special name for those NAS '94's that had the 2 piece rear door.

Port of entry or POE for short. But I think that those ones were basically unfinished sw. This one has a fibreglass top.

Yes POE (Port of Entry) were later 1994 models. Mine is number 310 so I assume it is earlier. It is a Soft Top that at some point the prior owner (its a 2 owner car) purchased the LR USA factory fiberglass top and installed it, painted it green and white like the body.

POE were a factory solution to make a NA Def like the rest of the world "wagons" where at the Port of Entry in the USA, techs would install an aluminum hard top similar to the way the fiberglass top goes on. As I understand it the fiberglass top and later POE's were based on North American demand, particularly colder climates, where customers were not satisfied with the canvas soft top alone.

My dilemma is that somewhere the prior owner must have lost one of the brackets where the strut connects to hold the "upper" lift gate in place. With just one on it wears the strut out. If you hear of any hardware for a NAS fiberglass top let me know. Otherwise I may just fabricate one somewhere.

The part is probably just sheet metal, so you could take the one you have to a sheet metal shop and have them duplicate the one you have. Have them make it out of non galv metal so you can paint them them the same.

Little story I heard re POEs was they all (70-75 of them) came in as ST with full NAS cages which were discarded as the aluminum HT does not fit over the NAS cages. Sad. I owned a POE for 5 years but it felt a bit hollow in there with no cage/protection.

94s never has the full st cage as far as I know... They had a truncated version. The Poe only had the front piece of the roll cage and nothing of the inside bits...

You had the rear hoop on your st? I thought the cage ended with the diagonals from the mid cage section that were unique to the 94s?

Believe it was an option that came with the full soft top, otherwise you'd be missing the rear bar

I found the parts! Voyager off road (voyageroffroad.com). I believe they mfg. them for their own make of fiberglass top. They are sending me two of them (I already had the struts from Atlantic British) so I will let you know how they compare to the single original I have and function. Thanks for offering assistance!
