New soft top header bar issue...help?

I'm switching out the windscreen connection (header bar?) for my new soft top. The old MOD style which had spring loaded cams/clamps and accepted the cylindrical soft top leading edge was removed (and donated to Javelinadave!) and in turn he sent me his header bar that accepts the soft tops with the flat leading edge

I thought it would be a easy swap, but I'm perhaps missing something obvious. The mounting holes line up, but the way the bar sits on the top of the windscreen is about 1/2 inch too far forward. Problem is I cannot move it back because of the gutter kit.

It *appears that the way around this, to move the bar back a 1/2" so the holes line up, is to notch out the header bar with a cut off wheel etc allowing room for the header bar to sit flush and in the correct place.

But I can't be the first person to do this and don't want to miss something obvious. Rather not hack something up if I don't need to.

Mucho thanks in advance.

Josh

The header bar goes under the gutter kit. Mine was a really tight fit, you really have to jam the gutter kit into the grove behind the section that the soft top slips into. That said, I can't tell from the pics if you have the same gutter kit as me, but that is the header bar I used

Few more pics. Not sure if that's the case with this one.

Much appreciated

Thx. So yours goes on top of the gutter kit. Wonder if the MOD gutter kit is different than the ROW's?

Ahhhhh. I may just have one compatible with the ROW set ups. Oh well. Made it work!

Few minutes with a cut off tool and a tube of silicone.....

Thx for the help boys.
