The best soft top for the Defenders is by Badger. Check numerous threads in this forum and you will get a good idea of what is offered and what folks think.

Also, if you're having trouble with your top seeming too small and tight, one trick is to heat it up. Just let it sit in the sun for a bit, and everything gets easier.

Heating will definitely do the trick!

When you're ready to get a REAL top for your truck, one that would make your Defender proud to be a DEFENDER...get a Badger top!!!

The owner answers the phone, so that's who you'll deal with...he's very personable.
Give him a call and he will send you out a catalog of his products.

PS...he's updating his website!

Just got a new Badger III fits like a glove, looks great and there is no comparison between this new top and the original top supplied by Land Rover. Well worth the price.

Just got the badger installed a couple of weeks ago. Fits very nicely. Haven't taken it off yet, so I can't tell if it's more of a PIA than the old tickford. One important note - Badger sells a gutter kit that helps seal if off from weather. It's a defender, so you cant seal if off totally but the gutter kit really is worth the money.

I can't wait. My B3 will be here in mid to late Oct. Little chilly right now with no top at all. Gotta sell that hardtop to pay off the VISA...

Unfortunately, the sun never seems to be shining when I am putting on my soft top.

Oscar, I had the same problem. Use a hair dryer. Just heat up about a square foot around the area you need to stretch for a few minutes. It really works.

Prepping for trips on especially cold nights, I've resorted to firing up a 22,000 BTU heater on top of a 20-pound propane tank in the back of my truck. Just be careful it doesn't tip over or get too close to anything, and be mindful of the suffocation hazard....

Badger is the way to go. I've had mine now for over a year i think and its really nice. The gutter kit takes a little time to fit but is worth it i think. Plus he's on here as badgerman.
