New rotors and brakes

I spent yesterday replacing the rotors and pads (what a party that was). Now the brakes work well during normal stopping, but during a hard stop there isn't as much grab as there used to be.

I did manage to push some fluid out of the reservoir when I pushed the pistons back into the caliper but otherwise it was a fairly routine brake job.

Would bleeding the brakes give me more stopping power or have I messed up something else in the process?

They have a running in period. It wil brake better in a couple of hundred miles or less. Go gentle on them through this time.
