The Japanese 90s are not worth less per se, but perhaps an insurance company or a bank making a loan would value it less. The trucks are generally quite nice owing to Japanese driving habits and regs etc, but as mentioned above, only a certain VIN range is eligible for importation. Some might have ended up in Canada that are not actually eligible to enter the US.

I love the fact that ECR truck sold in days. Just goes to show that there is always a ready market for the right truck.

it's not the condition of the Japanese 90 that worries me - it is the lack of documented history. I'm a fickle person, having gone through 2 cars in just over 2 years, and I don't want to buy something that would be any more difficult to sell.

mpsteil: thanks for the offer on your truck - I would much rather purchase one from someone on the forum who knows their stuff - however, it's not quite the color/config I'm looking for (I'm more interested in a hard top).

Michael - where in Chicagoland are you? I'd love to come check out your truck once you get it. Give me some sense of what mine might look like with a hard top and no rust. : )

I live downtown (River North area), but my parents live in a Northern suburb, so I'm up that way quite often.
