New Defender two wheel drive. Hoax?

Forgive me if this has been posted already. I do not believe it is satire, but it may be.

"This should make the Defender simpler and easier to drive, which we’re told was a key design objective given many owners have complained the current vehicle is too complex to operate."

I don't think this is totally untrue.... there was a post on the D2 forum quite a few weeks back, mentioning that 4wd might be an "option", same as some other models in the line up might be.

I suppose if you're not planning to wheel, and just tow on tarmac, the weight saving (and cost) of a transfer box, and front (or rear, whichever it is) driven axle, will save some .
