My catalytic converter is rumbling, sounds like some marbles kicking around. My exhaust is not old, maybe 6-8 yrs with no rusting. Seems like the noise comes around when truck is hot. Can this be replaced without doing the whole exhaust set up? I don't want land rover parts as I am sure they are ridiculously priced.

I would call up a local muffler (Midas) shop.

Aftermarket are $400 or so for a whole new y pipe.

You might be able to stop it by screwing in a long screw where it is rattling.

I just called Midas, they show no after market parts for 94 D90. The guy says the catalytic converter doesn't usually make noise when it goes bad. I have no idea what else it could be. It's def coming from underneath the truck and seems to rattle if I push on the gas and when it's winding down from the rev up.

CATs can sound like rocks shaking in a tin can when they go bad. Search Magnaflow here for the part number. About $75/side delivered on Amazon. They will need to be welded in.

Leave it. Like kidney stones they will ultimately break up and pass

Does this come as a part of the entire Y section? Can Midas order an after market one?

Does this Y pipe have the cat too? Where can I order this for $400?

I believe my cats is toast. Anyone here replaced the y-pipe with magnaflow system not just cats? If so how are they compare to the rest?

Looking at getting a new full system with 3", new y pipe, cats, muff and fixings. Got a quote for $1k out in San Diego. Seems a better price than RN. I am going to wait as mine i still ok but I have a couple pin holes that are getting louder.

the easiest DIY is to get the Y pipe with cats from eric at AB and do it yourself,,,, if one cat goes the other is soon to follow.
