new Alpine radio connection

Do I connect wires straight forward according to color, or, I remember somebody mentioned, that some wires should be switched?

Get a diagram for both wiring harnesses and match up the wires by function. It may be color-for-color but I never trust it. I match them by function.

really the only wires to worry that could be switched are the ignition and battery...with a test light you can identify these two pretty easily

Yup and if you need to figure out where a speaker is you can brush its leads on a ninevolt. The one that makes noise is the one ur looking forum

Definitely not the same. Should have wrote it down. As Chris said, match by function, surely someone on here has the 90 harness diagram.

Check the FAQ. It is in there.

radio is in

I was wandering if it is possible to attach wires the way, that radio is connected, even though the car is off.

Got it.
The purple car wire actually became red in Cratchfield adapter connection. That is why I could not get power.
After I attach red ( hot constant battery) to yellow stereo wire, start working right away.
Thanks.
