Nevada emissions testing

I will be moving to Nevada very soon from a state which does not have vehicle inspections. I just read the Nevada DMV page on the requirements and testing but wondered from people who are there if I should be aware of any hurdles. For instance, my check engine light stays on but it is because of the VDO speedometer gauge. Will that give me any trouble?

Thanks.

where in nevada? i live in douglas county (just south of carson city) my vehicle inspection consisted of having a person come out of their building and look at the vin number, verify it was the same as the one on my title...
I could have had the thing powered by a baby on a hampster wheel and they would have never known...

Las Vegas. Sounds pretty easy. So you didn't have it on a smog machine?

vegas, reno, and carson city are different beasts, you have to pass emissions and road worthy inspections in those cities/counties.
