Need technical advice on this year/config 110

Other than this is an '84 2.5NA 110 and it has about 60k orig miles owner says she knows very little about it. Would love to know if there's anything good, bad or indifferent re this year and configuration before I make an offer.

Many thanks,
Clay

The split doors are either fantastic or a PITA, depending upon your preferences. I have them on mine. I love the sliding action of the windows, but hate the door cards and door handles. For the front doors you could get new ST style cards (RN, Iron Goat etc., if you change the door handles) For the second row, your stuck with OEM, SII/SIII or nothing.

A little strange that it has sliding windows and locking hubs.

The earlier trucks have some pluses. All the trim bits are galvanized. The earlier axles are better.

If you pass let me know where it is.

Locking hubs means (almost certainly) that it has a rare as hens' teeth part time LT230 which was available from the factory in 83/84. Looks to be in good shape if the paint is original.

12 seater, county station wagon, cloth trim in brown, appears to have extra wide offset steel wheels. Side sliding windows are factory as is everything else I can see other than maybe the wheels and the front lifting eyes above the bumper.

Might be worth it verifying the engine number to see if it is a 2.5NA. The 110s were offered with 2.25 diesel in 1983. Since it's A reg and two tone with older style rear station wagon windows its kinda right between a bunch of changes. Keeping in mind that registration date is different than build date. The locking hub/part time four wheel drive would also lend itself to 1983 factory methinks. This isn't the type of 110 I would buy if I were looking to bling it out. If anything, it's too original.

Yes, this thing needs a proper defender 200tdi swap and that is about it. Maybe a LHD conversion, but to touch the body and paint would be a real shame.

Update: spoke to the owner's mechanic who confirmed its an all original 60k truck with PT230, no body/paint work. 2 owners. Owner verbally accepted my offer earlier this morning. I'll post more pics after she arrives.

Clay

P.S. Thanks all for your help.
