Which Vents are you refering? The ones under the windscreen? Or, the plastic vents on the wings?

Um, take out the pins and unbolt the operating lever.

Just that easy. I would only add that it is helpful to spray the operating lever hinge and nut that secures the lever to the vent with a penetrating oil (e.g. WD-40 or PB Blaster). Both my lever hinges were completely stuck, and removing the pins alone did not allow enough access to get a wrench on the nut.

Cheers!

yeah - be careful. my drivers side latch broke and it was a total pain in the ass to fix. first, i had to get the entire assemply from rovers north and take apart the bulk of the dash to install it. there might have been an easier way but i recall having to use a mirror and bolt peices together in reverse b/c of working with a reflection (i am not sure that even made sense- i havent had my coffee yet!)

the moral of the story - as with everything, being methodical will save a lot of future work!

Its much easier on a truck without a roll cage - the bar across the windshield base is hard to work around. You can do it without removing the bar, but its easier just to unbolt the 4 fasteners and remove the bar.
