Need Help Quick!!! Ignition Problem...

Well my D90 is in the paint shop and they called this morning and said that they are turning the key but nothing is happening and the steering wheel won't unlock. Has anyone ever run into this before? Any help would be great.
Thanks

Not sure but I think my steering wheel locked once and I had to sort of rock it (the steering wheel) back and forth till the key would turn or turn it one way or the other sort of forcefully till the key turned. It seems like its a steering wheel locking mechanism that gets stuck.
Hope that helps.

Thanks but the guy told me that the key is turning no problem but the steering wheel still won't unlock. Wierd huh? I'm going over there at lunch time to try and help him look at it.

Well I ended up just pulling the hole ignition out so that there is no lock and you can start it with a screw driver. Guess I'll have to rip this thing open and see what's going on inside.

Had that happen to mine, may have snapped a shaft inside the lock.

Get a new lock thats' my top tip.
I ran with a dodgy steering lock/ignition switch for a long while, then one day I was tootling along, turned the wheel for a bend and the steering lock locked on without driver input. That made for a white knuckle emergency stop. the people coming the other way were a bit startled too
