Need Help. Parts on a 1985 110 the same as a 1993 110?

Hello,

I have recently bought and received two Defender 110's from South Africa (I live in Denver CO). I am now working to fix and upgrade some parts. Both trucks are UK models.

One part in particular has started this question - the rear break shoes on the 1985. I see parts for the 1993 110 and want to ask you guys, are the parts the same?

Are there any other manufacturer break shoes I can use?
Other Land Rover Models?

Thank you for your help!

Matthew

Pretty sure the brake shoes are the same. You really need to download the parts catalogs and look to be sure or call a good vendor who will know.

Frankly, rather than replace shoes, I would convert to disc brakes.

Rovahfarm.com will have pretty much every part you need and Trevor is an awesome guy to deal with.

I second Trevor @ Rovahfarm. I just started work on my new to me 1986 D110, and Trevor has been nothing but a joy to work with, and very knowledgeable. His pricing is great as well IMO.

from mid 1992 onwards they (on the back of a 110) should be disc brakes anyway.

But apart from that, shoes are the same. Front pads may be the smaller type if it's an early-build 110.

suspension parts are all the same. Front radius arms are wider on the later defenders (300Tdi onwards... about 1994/5 ish?)
