Question Need help-Fuel pump link harness

I have a 1997 Defender 90. I need the link harness that connects to the fuel pump (part #3928). The link harness part # is AMR3042. My local dealer has checked D2D and come up with zero available. The part is marked “no longer available” or “back-ordered.” I have checked all the rover part vendors I could google with no luck, including all of this site’s sponsors. Land Rover U.S. was no help. A couple have mentioned that that part may be fabricated from a link harness for a Discovery. My questions: Any of you might know a source for this part – or ever made one up?

If you are wondering why I need the part, my D90 stalled going up a mountain pass in Washington State. Felt like a fuel problem and I knew the tank was full. Turns out the exhaust pipe was cracked and heat was emanating up toward the plastic fuel tank (part # ESR2657) and it partially melted the tank, fuel pump, and link harness. I was able to find the tank and pump, but I desperately need the link harness. Any help is appreciated. I was told this is the best forum for D90’s. Thanks.

Discovery harness part # YMT100050. You can get it from a dealer.
(I'd avoid LR Seattle. Go to dealer in Bellevue or Fife....)

Yes it does, but it's not hard to do. There are four wires that go to the factory plug. Purple/white is fuel pump power. Green is fuel guage power wire and two black ground wires. Just use the part of the disco harness that corresponds....

Just a follow-up. Returned from a short vacation and my rig was ready to go thanks to GYM's help. Also got a call-back from Land Rover North America and they gave me another part # - for the complete chassis harness. Dealer said he could get it for $1050 - after 2-3 wk wait from UK! GYM's mod saved about $800 and got me on the road. Thank you again GYM.
