I have a client who has his Rover with Sean at Blue Ridge Rover Works right now. He is definitely open for business.

Dale you're thinking of Tony K., who used to own Old English Cars down in Mills River. Tony is a LR Master Tech and he and I both worked at LR Asheville. His wife, Jenny, actually worked in our front office at LR Asheville as well. They are from the UK and made the decision to move back there a couple of years ago. They are good friends and I am still in touch with them.

OMG having ptsd. first breakdown in my 110 out of Knoxville on way to Ft Knox. towed to Knoxville LR due to a seized right front wheel bearing. 2 days and $1500 later, I had a new spindle with wheel bearings and back on road.

I dont think Ill go back to Knoxville ever after that.

Good to hear! Hope you have a good experience. He seemed like an honest guy in the brief time we spoke on the phone.

If things do go well (or not), you might mention your experience in the stickied "where to get your rover fixed" thread.

It looks like I'm late to this party. That's what I get for leaving the country for a few weeks.

I see you're still having trouble with the red 90. I've used Blue Ridge to put in my current suspension, and Performance Rovers for everything else. Mark and Mark are correct, Jason and Adam are great guys and they know their gas Rovers. Mine's currently there getting the T-Case swapped, Roamerdrive installed, and a few other odds and ends done in time for Uwharrie. Give them a call if the Ashville guys don't get it sorted our for you.

Hey guys. Blue Ridge Roverworks was a bust. Nice guys, but this seems to be over their heads. I am going to pick the truck up either today or tomorrow and will be taking it with me to Va this weekend. My easiest place to get it to will be Raleigh. Any takers??????

Really hate to hear that and I'll be curious to see who can sort things out for you if BR Roverworks couldn't get it done.

Good luck, and let us all know how things shake out for future reference!

So you're taking it to Virginia or Raleigh?? Which is it and what is the issue?

I know a guy who can fix anything on a D90 and he is in Clayton,NC just outside of Raleigh.
I also know a guy in Richmond VA who can fix anything on a D90.

Looking towards Raleigh. That would be easiest for me.

Where to begin. Its a 94 D90 ST with around 120,000 miles. I bought it in 2011 from a guy in Cali who had just spent about 10k with West Coast rovers to put a 4.6 in it. Ive put maybe 10k miles on it since then. The motor was still in break-in period when I got it. To me, it never seemed to run like it should. I put a Mark Adams chip for a 4.6 in it not long after I got it and it seemed to run better than with the stock ECU. A year or so afterwards the truck would act up from time to time (erratic idle, stalling, losing power on long hill climbs) but seemed to run well 80% of the time. Fast forward a couple years. I stored the truck outside for a whole winter, got in it after a few months and it fired right up. The next winter, I stored it in my garage. Ever since then, something is draining the battery. It can't sit for longer than a couple of hours without being stone dead. I installed a battery cutoff solenoid switch, because no one could find the drain. I suspect mice to be the culprit, as they had gotten into my motorcycle and chewed up everything. In addition, the truck just wouldn't run right(same problems as before, but now throwing fault code 44, sometimes 45). I have replaced o2 sensors twice, no change. New mass air flow, no change. Vacuum tested, no leak. Something is telling me that one damn little wire has been chewed in half by a mouse and all of my problems stem from that. Maybe not, but I am at my wits end with this thing!
