I thought I would resurrect this thread. I did a larger test area on the removable plate that is between the two from seats to access the gearbox etc. Its about 12x16 or so. Gave it a good simple sanding, a coat of spray primer and 3 coats of the Semi gloss paint and it is as exact as it could be. Sure, a little variation will exist truck to truck based on so many factors, but I believe I found the match.

My plan is to use the rattle can to do the inside of the truck in the next few weeks. Its pretty rough and I have to pull the seats anyway....

I can explore gallons and quarts in addition to rattle cans. But now that I know exactly what paint code this is and the gloss type, we can search for a good bulk deal.

I'll call the guy first thing. If he can only do rattle cans, ill search for another place. The hard work is done, IMO.

Sorry about resurrecting dead threads, but does anyone involved with this know which paint code was the correct one?

Call these guys- Army Jeep Parts in Levittown, Penn. 215-269-5014. They have 3 pages worth of correct period CGI Paints going back to WW2 up thru Desert Storm. They might have a matching paint, or direct you in the right direction to find it. Great guys to work with..... https://www.armyjeepparts.net/c-211-gci-paint.aspx

That would be appreciated Josh. My Wolf came factory green (bulkhead, interior, tub, etc) but the exterior is painted with a really rough coat of desert sand, wouldn't mind getting it back to green.

Cheers.

As far as I know, the NATO paint is not available in the US but is readily available on the surplus market in the UK. I took my truck over to the professional paint supply shop and they took their laser paint code matcher out and sampled several spots on the truck and this is what they came up with:

I haven't ordered any yet so I don't know if it will be close at all.

If we have a bunch of people who want paint, a better solution may be to buy a bunch of cans in the UK and coordinate with Defenders NW to buy some space on their next container to Tacoma, and then I can ship them out from here.

Marcus Glenn won't ship overseas due to hazardous classification of paint. It seems to be the same with everyone else I've contacted in the UK.

They don't have to. We have them ship to DNW's UK address and the paint gets put on the next container and shipped on the slow boat.

Using the pain codes you can have a USA supplier mix it like I did. I'll find it today.

Been wanting to do the PPG scan myself to get some touch up paint. I will give your PPG code a try when I have time and get a few spray cans.
Thanks for sharing josh-man
