NATO Green Paint code

I don't know if thats what its called but in the latest LRM mag, there was an article with pics for the defender production line and there was a military 110 2 door on the line. It was painted a military green and not really shiny and had white wolf wheels. How in the hell would I find out what color that is or a code for it. I want to paint my project truck this color. Any Ideas or answers would help.. I would like to get my local paint shop to mix if for me..

Randy,

You should be able to get a custom mix at any decent auto paint store, they should even be able to do a flat / semigloss look.

Maybe you can find someone that has an Ex MOD truck that can lend you a part so you can take it down and get it matched? I am sure there have to be a few on this board that have removed some Ex MOD parts that have paint on them

Just doing some looking around,

http://www.stephen.hull.btinternet.co.uk/color.html

http://www.olive-drab.com/od_mvg_camo_carc.php

http://www.surplusandadventure.com/i...opscr1698.html

Maybe they would ship to the US or at least let you know where you might get some over here?

Try searching this site http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/M101CDN/ . There has been some discussion about painting the trailer military green.

I have to scan the pic and post it. I don't know if its NATO green or what. Would LR be painting that color on the assembly line?

Hey Randy,

You want me to scrape some of my old paint off and send it to you?

Im curious how this ended up? Anyone have a reliable source for the Rover NATO green paint? One of the links above (thank you!) brought me to http://www.apstowerpaint.com/ who seems like they can match and ship to me in Maine.

Curious if other suppliers have it made up already. Thanks

I will post info on fed standard 595 once I get back to work. If you need paint I can get it. Oops just noticed that this is an old thread.

1. When looking for NATO Green you are probably looking at 383 green or 34094 green.
2. Info from Natick http://www.usifi.com/pdf/FerroNATICK.pdf
3. http://www.fed-std-595.com/images/fed-std-595.pdf
4. Paint sample http://www.rapcoparts.com/343grcsula19.html

I've had little luck finding a paint shop here that can match the green on my ex-MOD. The paint is easily available in the UK but none of my importer friends want to touch it (hazmat). Perhaps we could organize a group buy to bring a pallet of it over.

Chris, I have a call in to the guy in Texas who said he would get back to me by days end. I can report back.
I found the two codes (which look the same) on the unimog link above in this thread, but also pinged my UK Contact (Rugged Guide) who says the code they use is BS 381 which is a satin.

I can report back but interested in figuring something out for a group buy too. respray is in my future after, um, working seats.

I have rolls of fabric in that color at work... I can make lots of canvas tarps for the trucks

He gets his paint from OEM Sherwinn Williams.
