IIRC, I'm usually at 12 gal at a tick below 1/4 tank.

Is your gas gauge working? I typically fill up, reset the odo and watch that ticks to 180 - 190mi... then I fill up, regardless of what gauge reads. One of the 1st things I learned on SD - as my gas gauge sways left & right when truck is in motion.
Using the trip odometer as my guide to when to fill up is second nature to me as a result of riding older motorcycles that don't have fuel gauges (anyone remember those?) but I can see how relying solely on a fuel gauge that's not 100% reliable can be unsettling to some. In my case, the capacity of the tank isn't even what it's supposed to be which is what threw me off. A double system failure. I guess that's why critical life support systems typically have triple redundancy.

Yep. Track it all, even maintenance. Here is the LR3 that lives at the pump. Charles hooked my up w/ Gas Cubby.

That's backwards... He only saw 13 gallons going in at pump after running it out of fuel. If the station gave him 15.6 and only charged him for 13, they would be on the wrong end of that deal

Nice.
I don't keep maintenance in Gas Cubby because I was tracking 4 vehicles/gas + diesel and that was enough effort.
FWIW, I only run 87 in the 14CUX truck but it's always ethanol free.
