NAS 90 Snorkle options

just trying to get an idea on the snorkle options out there.

I would prefer something like the ARB Safari snorkle
http://store.arbusa.com/Safari-Snork...LHD-P3486.aspx

IE one that does not use the fender top air vent...

Any off the shelf options for our NAS d90's with V8's ?

Mantec probably makes one too: http://www.mantec.co.uk/products.cfm...6AD305F3DE7E28

I just switched from a Safari Snorkel to a Mantec. I like the look of the Safari Snorkel more, but it didn't fit nicely with my roll cage. Nick @ Mantec patiently answered all my questions and built up a custom kit for exactly what I needed.

Anyway, between those two companies you should be able to get exactly what you need. Personally, I like to support the actual innovators so I didn't head to eBay for my snorkels.

For your heater....absolutely. Why do you want to mount it on the passenger side?

Found a left hand mount. Nice safari style at a fair price. Also thought it might bother me visually on driver side.

How will the Mantec top mount style affect the heater as I am interested in that model?

What do you mean "affect the heater"?

Your heater intake is on the passenger side wing top... The drivers is just a blank cover.

I just got a reply from Darren at Mantec and they will no longer build the top mount NAS snorkle.

I recently decided to go with the "camel trophy" style. I couldn't find a single place to put the snorkel on a 1985 2.5n/a than through the hood. Killed me to cut the hole, but I was able to assemble the whole thing from parts I got in store at advanced auto (except the cap. That was $35 on amazon). Works well. I am going to replace the hose with something more robust though, but for now the intake duct they sell is fine. Total price, about $100.

You have more money in lights on your roof rack than most disco 1s are worth...

Seems like for the money you spent on those lights you could've bought a decent snorkle

Chinese knockoffs of the ARB. Surprisingly cheaper than you'd think. ($450 for all 4 though still metal body) Also, there is no snorkel kit for my year. That's a polished aluminum tube. Better than you'd get in most snorkel kits.

Why wouldn't you go out the wing vent?

No side wing vent. It's a 1985 land rover 90 with a 2.5 n/a. There isn't room to get anything larger than maybe a 2" diameter hose past the heater box even if there was and the top vent is taken up by the intake for the heater. That was my only option.

Absolutely. I felt it needed a hood ornament and that is the only one that made sense.
