NAS 110 LT77S vs LT77

Anyone know if a LT77 out of a NAS 110 (V8) will work with a TDI.

I read somewhere it won't due to the input shaft length. But i can't find anywhere else to confirm that.

Different bellhousing, input shaft and gear ratios.

The gear ratios are not that far off. You could swap the input shaft and bell housing. I sold one to someone who had Rob do that.

Of course you can change over the parts. It requires a full tear down of the box. Might as well put in the diesel gears while you are at it as they are much better ratios.

I would think a V8 Defender LT77S is a pretty rare though so would be worth more than a diesel version which is really common.

Well there are two board members here that have them for sale. But for what I need not worth changing parts. Will just find the correct type.
