Name that tune?!

I've been experiencing a strange chattering noise from somewhere in the drivetrain i believe. It sounds like sounds like a bunch of birds or something. I took video from underneath to help you diagnose. thanks.

Why don't you get the prop shaft rebuilt, the balance weight hanging on for dear life is't helping things. When was the uj's and centre spline last greased?

Honestly I have no idea how old the uj's are. They sure don't look new.

On a stock D90 with no height mod's the front prop shaft is still pretty tilted & will wear the prop joints faster than the rear. 175K+ on my rears & they're still in good shape, the front'shave been replaced about 4 years ago. I'd start there and use Neapco brand joints, they're USA made.

I agree, it sounds like the u-joints are dry. It's easy to check. Chock the wheels and disengage the hand brake, and get under there and yank on the ends of the driveshaft in every direction you can. If the u-joints are bad it will be fairly obvious since you'll see the joints move (they shouldn't)

Thanks for the responses, keep them coming. Dumb question, are all of the u-joints the same size?
