Mystery part help needed

This box is located under my right rear wheel arch, above the fuel filler neck. I'm suspecting it looks like a charcoal canister for the fuel vapor recovery, but not sure. Has several small hoses running into the vicinity of the fuel tank. So what is it, and do I need it? Not sure vapor recovery is important now that I'm diesel.

Needing to make space for a rear arch aux fuel tank, so it needs to be relocated or removed, whatever it is.

You are correct and if you decide to sell it I'm very interested. Mine leaks so badly I can't fill the tank all the way up.

The charcoal canister (like all NAS V8s) is located up under the right front fender behind the headlight - this is the overflow tank that drains liquid fuel back to the tank and lets vapor be extracted to the cansister. It might still be functioning as an overflow of sorts, but since the vapor recovery system isnt connected to your diesel motor its not doing much.

You can lose the thing, but definitley sell it. They are stupid expensive to replace. Mine was rusted out on the 110 so I just replaced it with the small plastic version used on the 90s.
