Mystery Defender

Ive looked everywhere for info on this, does anyone know the who/what/where/when/why of the french national plate? ive never seen one before and i just bought this 1986 defender 90 LHD. Any help much appreciated.

You can get custom plaques made up. Probably done by a PO.

Ive talked to other owners with french national plaques so i know its not a one off but dont know history or purpose

let's see the truck and where'd you buy it from? What did the PO have to say about the badge? As others have said it just looks like a regular Falon plate but you can make up a really cool story.

I was told it was originally made for the french national guard or military and was later sold to the french government, the original color is that mint trident green, not conniston or the darker colors so it seems more like it was used as transportation for Govt officials rather than military. I can aslo see points where a light was mounted on rear of roof and places where a radio was mounted on the dash.

Looks minty! Very nice. Bumper caps look good but aren't true to period correct as the rest of the truck. But who cares, I like 'em, and if you do too, good on ya! Gorgeous 90!
