I like the fact that it matches the rest of the switches. The down side is that I am running it upside down. The lighting is fixed so it doesnít light up through the lens. It lights the switch instead. No big deal but annoying. All the rest of my switches are configurable so I was able to wire them up to light up properly.

Wiring it was simple. I made an adaptor harness that plugs into the original hazard switch plug. So no wires cut on the truck. I used crimp on 0.093" Pins that I opened out slightly and they fit in there fine.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking of doing too (not the upside down part). I didn't realize until my month in Botswana how important it is to have the hazard in a convenient location and easy to find, when traveling in the 3rd world. Has topped my priority list.

The problem with running them the 'right' way up is that the light bleeds out from behind the covers and lights up the front of the panel. It's annoying as it hits that ridge and is really obvious. The way I have it now the whole switch rocker lights up and glows and then flashes when its on. It makes it easier to find which as you say is key when you want to find it in a hurry.

You can see it a bit in the pic above with it lit up. The 'yellow' light on the front of the console above the switches. That pic was taken during the day, it's much worse and more noticeable at night. It's inherent to the carling switch design not specifically the hazard switch.

Sweet!! That's what I mean by the Mud version offering a better blank canvas that lets you do what you want more readily than the IG.

If I remember right the IG only allows you to fit up to 6 switches across whereas the Mud fits 7 as well?

Thanks for all the Mud UK console pics. They are making my decision difficult now! Might still go the Iron Goat as I really like the metal inners. I've been driving without the radio on for the past month so not sure if I need or want to spend on a "media center" (although man, some of those setups look nice).

Any Iron Goat owners want to weigh in?

Does the IG and Mud UK require dash cutting?

IG yes, Mud no (unless you want to install any long stuff on the bottom of the console.)

Does anyone with a 97 have either of these consoles installed... I am wondering if they will clear my air con switches?

Mark. If you switch dashes I would be interested in your factory 97 switches. Dan
