Both the door speaker wire grommets MUC6521 have perished on my 97 D90. The part is no longer available (the longer rear door one is however) but I was wondering what other members have done to replace theirs.
Newer trucks use the convoluted gasket which fits in square holes in the door post - it works great. It is also long and the same part is used on the back door. The factory just lets the extra length extend into the door cavity. It actually looks just fine in practice.
It looks like it's the same part for RRC, D1 and D2. Joel has some of the D2 ones on his ebay store, and while they are used, I'd assume D2 would be the newest used ones you can get easily in the US.
Same part on several LR (no surprise) . Perhaps Will Tillery can help
FOR DISCOVERY I FROM 1994 TO 1999
DISCOVERY II FROM 1999 AND UP
RANGE ROVER CLASSIC
RANGE ROVER 4.0/4.6 FROM 1995 TO 2002
PART MUC6521
Looking at pictures it's no where near the same part . The ends are different and its much longer.
The Alfa ones look closer but are 28 GBP to ship to the US, sigh.
Hi did you make the metal clamping brackets at the door card end or did you find something common to do the job? Just adding CL to my full 110 CSW rebuild cheers
Hi folks.. in the pictures posted the kick panel in the footwell has a plate with a hole in it. My 1988 LR90 does not have that hole, just solid with a wright rubber cover on it.
Anyone know what's needed to get that plate with the hole in it so I can run the grommet from the loom on my new door there?
Ozzie
