moving from miami to boulder

thankfully. the rover was getting bored in the swamp.

my starter is about to go out and i'd like to find a mechanic along my route. i'm currently in atlanta off 75 heading towards Nashville, Chatanooga, and on to St. Louis via 24, 57, 64 and ultimately on to 70 for the remainder.

does anyone have any good recommendations for mechanics along the way? my fuel pump already went and i think the starter is next. of course it's the two things that are hard to diagnose prior to leaving.

thanks in advance.

Pendy is in the Witchita area. You've already passed TLR, but I'm not sure how much maintenance work they want anyway.

Paul Schram is in Indianapolis, and another guy, Chris is in St. Louis if you should get stuck. Call me at 866.854.8514 if you should get stuck and we'll flag them down.

If the starter is about to go, be sure to park on hill facing forward. Worse comes to worse, you can get rolling and drop it in gear.

If you need repairs in Kansas City, try Kevin Hinkle (KH Automotive) at 913-403-0073. His shop is probably only about 11 miles off of I-70.

Ah, one more Boulderite--we should get together for a pint or two when you are back...

Made it to Boulder. Found a great mechanic in Atlanta. His name is Mack. His number is 404-636-3636. I had to get the starter from Baker Auto parts. They actually had one which was a surprise. Thanks for all the tips. I did pop the clutch once and just kept refilling the gas tank without turning off the engine.
