Move parking brake handle to other side?

In order to get the D2 cable to work on my RHD (and RH parking brake handled) truck, I can either extend the parking brake cable or shift the handle to the left side of the seat box. It doesn't appear that it's any more than 3 holes in the seat box to shift the brake handle, and one cable clamp from extending the cable back over the xfer case to the right hand side.

Thoughts/opinions? Neither solution is perfect, but both should work.

This is ideal because it won't hit your leg. I keep meaning to do this to mine.

I moved mine to the left side when I converted to LHD (it was a bit of a reach for me to leave on the right). I bought a LHD handle from Stephen Peters and modified it to work with the early style cable. The new handles come with a switch for the binnacle warning lamp which is a handy item to have. Most of the early trucks I have seen do not have the switch. BTW, the LHD cable is longer than the RHD unit.

Was there any difference in the handles other than the warning light?

Looks as though there is -- the brackets appear to be mirror images from one side to the other and are not interchangeable. The good news is that it appears that the D2 cable will *just* work on a LHD defender w/o clocking the parking brake assembly.
