Miles to expect on a replacement 200tdi/300tdi composite headgasket?

Sorry folks...I am wondering - of those folks who have replaced the headgasket on their 200tdi or 300tdi with a composite type (Elring), how many miles do you have on your rebuild?

I went the metal route and it leaked coolant at the front LH corner so the next time around I used a composite. 99-100% of the posts Iíve read on the U.K. sites said never use the metal gaskets. Only for factory new blocks and heads.

Only ever used Elring composite.

Ime, how long they last is usually a function of whether or not you have your head "surfaced" on a belt surfacer.

Removes minimal material and leaves a nice flat face unlike a mill/cutter leaves.

Amost 40,000 on my composite Elring HG and still going strong (last I heard, as I sold it a couple years ago for my Td5) .
