Memory Module Battery

I am replacing the Varta Mempac battery in my memory seat module. Can anyone suggest a replacement that won't leak all over the board, or something that is an improvement from the original that will work well. Thanks

Chip

Chip - the new NiMHs should be good for 20 years or so. I got one from my local BatteriesPlus. I also bought one online from Interstate Batteries. Both were ~ $10 ea (got free shipping from Interstate).

On the interstate site, search under part #NIC3405, it's actually a 150mah, not 100, but should be fine. Have you looked underneath the IC's yet?

What do you guys use to cover up the trace repairs on the board to re-protect them?

I use a circuit sealer pen, but there's a guy on RRNet that swears by his wife's nail polish...
