Having had a similar experience (mine was a glow plug for my 300Tdi up in the Bay Area) that also had someone come to my rescue even though we never met... all I can say is:

This place is awesome.

Similar experience driving home from Rausch Creek one Sunday and Trevor Griffiths came to my rescue!

Hope it all works out for you as you look like you are in good hands.

I had to cut an ear, and modify the bracket.

So far we're in Lake Norman, NC at a rest stop just to feed the kiddies and give the defender a break. 100 miles to before VA and roughly 600 miles from home... Crossing my fingers there aren't anymore excitement on the road tonight.

Sam, that line was classic! LOL

Haha... Joe is 5 feet tall by 5 feet wide!!!

Just looking at that picture, my wife said I could literally fit inside him!!! LOL

David, yes, my fender need some straightening after this..

Although I have to hand it to him, he was the only shop around that was willing to work this weekend to get me back on the road... He even tried to get his buddy to rebuild the alt for me had we not gotten a new one from Dave.

Got to go... 600 miles to go! Thanks guys!

I'm glad you got it fixed and are on the way home. Sorry I wasn't close enough to help.

It is very cool he wanted to help. Thing is...had you not paid he would have eaten you.

Since we met I am sure you noticed I am not small 6' 2" 230lbs (that equates to somewhere near 79 stone, 17 pebbles). I have made it a life long practice to avoid mammals larger than I. This does not just apply to Janet Reno. I also avoid horses, large live stock etc,,,,,

Glad you found a good guy to work on your truck. Sorry I couldn't be of service but things were wrapped up by the time I logged on today.
I will say, that is one sturdy step ladder!
