Mantec NAS snorkel

Hey guys,

Has anyone tried to fit a Mantec NAS snorkel on the passenger side of the vehicle? Thanks.

I do not think it will work as the vent opening is diffrent passenger vs driver side.

They sell one like the NAS for V8 rovers that are RHD and made to mount on the right hand side. Still not sure it would work as there might be stuff in the way under the fender.

Cool, thanks. Just seemed the routing of the tube from the driver's side was a bit long. Thought there would be a way to shorten the length if it was mounted on the passenger side. Again, thanks.

If you are savy welding, you could cut the wing mount off the shorkel tube, reverse it and re-weld. Presto, will have the pattern of the pass side wing.

Do all the NAS snorkel kits come in the fender through the top in that vent opening? was wondering if they make one that comes down and comes in through the side of the fender. I have seen them but not for NAS models seeing how I dont have a side vent fitted on my fender.

Doesn't the heater intake come from the passenger side vent, thus negating a snorkel side swap on the NAS?

Try a Southdown snorkle. I got mine from Ebay's UK site. Southdown was prompt, reasonable, and helpful.
I cut a hole next to the passenger front rollcage support and ran the hose down and then up to my TDi intake which is very close to where the V* one is (mine is a converted NAS V8). It is a tight fit but it works and you don't have snorkle hoses lying all over.
If you search this forum for snorkles I think you can find pictures.

Follow-up Post:

I found the post but couldn't figure out how to copy it.

Search this forum under "Well, I finally cut the hole". It should show as the top post "cuuting a hole in the wing for a snorkle". Yes, I misspelled cutting. It is the last post and it has pictures.
