Mantec Carrier on a Soft Top

Hi Everyone,

I was born into the D90 world about two weeks ago- pulled the trigger on a 94 AA Yellow soft top and I couldn't be happier! I finally divorced my 93 YJ and found a prettier girl!

I've looked through hundreds of posts regarding the Mantec carrier vs Bearmach vs .... and I'm not trying to start a thread of which is better.

I have yet to see either one hanging off the back of a soft top tailgate. Can anyone tell me if there are any issues I might run into with the half door?

Thank you and Happy 4th!

Chris

The ST tire carrier is very good and generally doesn't cause problems.... there are a few specific reasons to go with something else for the ST but unless you run into those cases stick with the oem carrier...

Thanks, but I should have mentioned in my original post that my truck was missing the OEM carrier when I bought it. Sorry

So far my search has come up empty.

You need a couple spacers for the tailgate. Other than that, my understanding is it just bolts right up.

90% certain that the Mantec carrier will cause interference issues with the lip the ST uses where it bolts to the top capping. You may need to adjust the lip rail or not correct the top in that area. Clearly I'm not positive but look closely where the Mantec bolts up and where the rear, pass side, top lip rail is positioned.
