Manifold/exhaust heat wrap

Does anyone have any experience, advice or warning using Heat Wrap on the manifolds and exhaust? Is there a risk of damaging anything or is it just a lot of work with little benifit?

I'm about to try it to use it to reduce under-bonnet and floor board temperature.

Thanks!

Owen

The biggest issue is that it can tend to hold in moisture and cause rusting. More of a problem with headers than cast iron manifolds.

Good point, hadnt thought of that. Although I am running a full stainless steel exhaust that should slow that down a tad.

Thank for the input.

I guess my concern was more about running the manifolds red hot while bolted to aluminum heads...
