Major Problem

I was changing the tachometer bulb in the dash, put the dash back together and now the speedometer doesn't work and neither does the odemeter. All of the lights work except the tach light, temp light, gas light, and speedometer light. Blinker light works fine, as does the green arrows for the blinker. The blower light and temp lights don't work either. I'm afraid I really screwed something up, what should I do. I have checked all of the fuses, and they are fine. Please Help

Oh yeah, the beeping sound when you leave your lights on doesn't work now either

Open the manual to the wiring diagram and check to see if those items are on the same circuit. If so, you likely have a random ground, and careful checking with a test light and eliminating items along the way should be enough to find where the fault is.

My guess is that it's not major, but it's a rover, so who knows.

OK, I just went to my buddy's service station, figured out the electrical problem, I didn't have some of the wire grounded, and it kept blowing a fuse, so we fixed that and everything is OK. But while I pulled the dash apart, I also snapped the speedometer cable. I guess now I'm in search of a speedometer cable, I'll check atlantic british and rovers north. Not really something I wanted to deal with right now, but, it is what it is.

Follow-up Post:

I've got one more question...do I need the speedometer cable (lower) or (upper) Atlantic british sells the lower for 22.95, and the upper for 119.95. I'm assuming I need the upper

Yep, you need the upper.

As a side note. I really would like to buy the broken one off of you. How does $20 sound?

Put it back in and use electrical tape. Sounds ghetto, worked for me for like 3 years.
