Magneti Marelli on amazon?

Has anyone seen this? It looks suspiciously inexpensive compared to the 100amp alternator on roversnorth ($999). I'm looking to upgrade my alternator so I can run an on-board welder.

Sounds good. I'm going to buy this since a) it's not that expensive and b) it seems easy to install. http://www.eurorestorations.com/Euro...r_Upgrade.html

Hopefully it'll be enough to run an on board fridge and welder.

Has anyone had a problem installing these on a 95 nas d90?

Save your money & get a Delco CS130 140amp alternator from the Tillery...straight drop-in and only thing you have to do is cut the existing wires and use the plug for the Delco. Pm me for details. Should be even cheaper than the Marelli listed, and is easily rebuildable by any local shop.

$999?????
Had to go look for myself. Thought it was a typo. But no it wasn't. Must be the gold plated edition.

The Premier is the way to go. Send them your old core (or another) and they'll rebuild it to one of theirs. I really want one of their welder+alternator setups.

Ok, so it turns out the MM is the wrong model. I think the brackets are built for a later year defender. They can't easily be modified.

Premier no longer rebuilds defender 90 alternators and charges $700 for one new. I'm not sure if mean green has an alternator that fits a 3.9l v-belt (heard a report that they don't).

The delco 140amp alternator seems like the way to go...is will tillery still selling it?

Premier no longer rebuilds Magneti alternators. They'll sell you a new one that will fit in the d-90 for something like $700.

That's probably too expensive so I'm now in the market for the delco. Anyone have any recommendations on sourcing one? I'm in SF, CA

If you search Action Alternators on here I had a thread dedicated to alternators and all of the contact details, etc. are in that thread. They were who used to/still supply Will Tillery.
