LT77 Wading Plug

I know where the plug hole is supposed to be located, but there just isnt a hole to be plugged. Did some of the ROW defenders with LT77s not have these holes? I am a bit confused

Not that I know of. Are you sure there is not a plug in it already? It is in the clutch cover, which is more technically part of the engine.

No. The clutch housing is over the clutch and flywheel and bolted to the engine. The bellhousing is bolted to the gearbox. The clutch housing and bellhousing are bolted together and that is how you separate the engine and gearbox.

OK, to avoid confusion, Land Rover calls it a "flywheel housing". On a 2.5TD, the plug is on the front bottom of this housing. See attached... ERC7295 is the plug.

Got it! I was under the impression it would be on the bottom, not on the side. What are the downsides of having it plugged constantly?

If you develop an oil leak, the oil could get into the clutch.
