Lt230Q cost

Board-

Yes, I've searched, and yes Josh, even advanced search, but can't find anything really recent....

Soooo.....roughly, and very roughly, what should a swap cost? From a LT230 to a LT23Q at a very reputable shop? Not a dealer... I know there are so many variables but I'm just curious as to ranges on this cost?

Help and fire away.....😁

Those came in I think with 1996 Discoveries. So check your local yard for the correct year.

Takes about 2/3 hours max to fit. Takes another hour or two to get the linkage hooked back up as it might be a little off.

I got my Q box off eBay from a local breaker for $250

I would expect a shop to charge between 6-10 hours and possibly more depending on how rusty it is and how much other work gets done at the same time.

Now estimate with an Ashcroft of some sort was mentioned at $3200.

Best source for a rebuilt LT230Q?

I'd like to price a rebuilt one. Also, is there any "resale value" for my original transfer case? It works fine, I just can't stand this driveline clunk and understand a LT230Q may mitigate a huge percentage of it.

Also, car is pretty much spotless underneath so I can't imagine rust or dirt being a factor in replacing the transfer case.

Thanks Zach. I may have been wrong on the year they mentioned...
