Lt230

I have a NAS D90 driveline that I am transplanting into an 83 One Ten. The transfer case has spun a bearing and torn up the main case.
I have a bunch of D2 Tcases sitting around, and was considering just using one of those cases to rebuild it using the original 90 230 internals.
Anybody confirm that the cases are the same?

thanks!

can you document the change over if you do it with lots of pics? I'd like to see what's involved with an LT230 rebuild, particular in switching ratios.

The tail housing is different, but the main case is the same other than the solinoid hole and one sensor hole that I am aware of.

I put a disco 1 lt230 with a d2 parking brake assembly on an '83 110. the only fiddly part was working out the parking brake cable (it's short for a RHD truck) and the speedo cable input. Otherwise it bolts right up.

Also, if it were me, I would keep the DII internals and just swap the tail housing assuming that the DII case is the one with the diff lock provision.
