LT 95 Starter

Is there any difference in the starter for the manual trans LT95 and later ZF transmissions. Not sure if its just the cold or if my starter might be on the way out. I have a few newer styles in the garage I think. It's to cold to pull it and see if they are the same.

Early V8s had either the 4 spd (LT95) or 5 spd (LT85). The starter depends upon the engine not the transmission. My parts book lists RTC5228E as the starter for an early V8 regardless of transmission.

So it sounds like it is a different starter than the later RRC starter with the ZF trans.

Thanks

You would have to chase down the part numbers to see what superseded RTC5228E to see if your later V8 starter is suitable.
