LS Motor Question- Power surge at 1/4 Pedal

I did some searching around but didn't find an answer to this one. I have a Defender 110 with a Gen 3 LS Motor and auto tranny. Motor is awesome truck drives great EXCEPT between 2nd and 3rd gear it gets a little jumpy. I actually took to local speed shop to try and sort it out they thought tranny was bad. We checked it out tranny was fine. Putting it on the machines it looks like what happens is power is normal til you get to 1/4 pedal depression then it jumps to 65% so it kinda jumps through 2 and 3rd gear. They can't find a fix for it, they called shop who did engine install out west and they say its common problem and no fix.

Sooooooo has anyone ran into this and is there a solution? Thanks in advance!

Have you had the truck professionally tuned? If not that should be done first.

Thanks for the reply SafariHP I know ya'll are the pros. I actually was gonna call your shop later today I have friend here who wants an LS in his Rover. I recommended ya'll.

To answer your question yes its at a LS specialty shop right now getting tuned. They say tune is good and tranny is good but they say the pedal throttle is the issue? They say basically the way its set up it just jumps way up in throttle and they don't know how to fix it?

Gen III is going to be a mechanical throttle assembly with a cable actuating the throttle body, where the Gen IV stuff is all throttle by wire with servo actuation. It sounds more like a linkage or cable issue than a tuning issue based on what you're saying.

Who did the original install? Post some pictures of the throttle pedal and cable setup.

Yeh I just got off phone with shop again. He says it seems to be some issue with the pedal. He says its drive by wire and that the pedal when you get to a certain point it jumps from about 20% throttle to almost 60% and there is really no way around it he can see short of swapping out the pedal?

I got my pedal from these guys..Never had that issue but it was a Gen IV. Sounds dangerous.

Almost sounds like a dead spot in the pedal assembly. If its a used unit, may have sustained damage in an accident etc.
