Low RPM knocking, ideas?

Hi, all.

Recently, my 97 has started knocking when I start off the line...as the RPMs get above 1500-2000, it squares away and I don't hear a thing.

I replaces cap/wires/coil 10K ago, and have no problems/isues until now.

Timing? Or?

Thanks, all.

Tory

Possible exhaust leak, maybe a crack in the manifold? Bolt missing or lose?

Could be oil related? Checked the dipstick to see where the oil level is at?

It's not exhaust related, I'm sure of that...no pressure light...but I'll check level, I was initiallt thinking spark/timing, but interested in hearing other ideas...

Has it lasted more then one tank of gas? You may have a bad tank of gas that is causing pinging.

I would look at the cats and see if they are rattling, also would check oil pressure...or put in a gauge.
