Looking at getting a D-90

I am looking at buying a D-90 and was wondering about some things.. such as Miles?? So how many miles can I expect to get out of one.. I am looking at a 94' Yellow D-90 with 90,000 miles at a price of $25,000.. is it worth that?? and as for problems.. anything i should be aware of.. I have heard that lots of D-90 can get 200,000 to 500,000 miles out of them on the original engine with just regular maint.. please help me to know if i should do this or not

No.

You can have my green one with 113k for 17,900. No way 23k is worth $7100

RUST..... These trucks RUST......watch out for RUST on the doors, bulkhead, rear cross member, floors

dont worry about engines, trannies or tranfer cases. If the truck is maintained they will last.
I sold my 95 with 164k on the clock and still ran strong.

Buy Rons he takes care of his stuff... and his is a POE very rare.

Maybe Mike H can drop it off on his way to pick up Ron's 110 in CA?

Doesn't anyone search any more? How often do we have to rehash the same question???

Well, maybe one more time...

I paid $25K for my 97 SW Arles Blue, 73K miles, excellent shape with no rust anywhere. that was two years ago so you do the comparison. Listen, don't jump on the first one you see because you're caught up in this Defender thing. I did the same and it cost me $9K for a Series 3 - which is now sitting in the driveway.

And where did you hear these V8's can go 500K miles???

I am reluctantly going to sell by White D90 - It's a 1997 HT 86,000 miles - runs like a dream. I'm looking for $30,000. It's # 2114 of 2500

If I had it to do over again, I would get these things done:
1. Pressure test
2. Hydrocarbon test
3. Emmissions test

Those three tests would have told me a lot, but would have only affected the price. I got mine for much less than 25k with 85k on the clock, and even though I have basically re-done the entire cooling system, replaced a big chunk of the exhaust system, and its currently in for head gaskets it was still worth it. I would have still bought it, just paid a little less.

Are you looking at Sean's 300TDI yellow D90? I think that is about what he is asking and it is a fresh TDI diesel engine...if I was in the market, I sure would take a hard look at that truck.

When you get serious about a truck and you want my opinion, I would be happy to look at it with you---
